Mountain Bike in the Dolomites
Enjoyable to challenging cycling in South Tyrol
There is hardly a better region for touring with your mountain bike in the Dolomites than Eggental. Nestled in the heart of the mountain landscape between Catinaccio and Latemar, Eggental offers perfect climatic and topographic conditions for rides of all kinds. Whether you are looking for challenges or want to bike unhurriedly through the valley – it never gets boring here.
If you are thinking about mountainbiking in the italian alps then it is definitely the Dolomites where you want to be. The most spectacular scenery presents itself at the Eggental with the monumental pale ridges of Latemar and Rosengarten. The views are breathtaking, the climate is perfect in the summer months with temperatures not soaring too high and you can choose from a variety of tours, suited for beginners, families and absolute experts. Cool forest roads which end on a sunny alpine meadow with the typical picturesque hut offering local specialities. Dramatic switchbacks on rough singletracks right beside the gray-white towers of the Dolomites. Or easy rolling gravel road for the family outing. You name it, Eggental covers it all.
NEW from June 2015: The Bike Trail Carezza
The trail begins amidst the idyllic scenery under the Frommer Alm and leads through the small, beautiful Niger Valley and to the valley station of the Welschnofen gondola aerial lift. Along a stretch of about 4.4 km, the flow trail repeatedly runs parallel to a brook, winds its way through forests, and crosses meadows. With its steep turns and high banked curves, small bridges and jumps as well as northshores, the trail will offer biking enthusiasts real excitement. To make the flow trail even more interesting, there will be smaller and larger jumps, drops, and tables.
The trail is scheduled to open in late-June of 2015.
With the inauguration of this trail, the already very attractive mountainbike region of Eggen Valley in the Rose Garden and Latemar of the Dolomites gains yet another fascinating attraction.
